The Centre for Art Tapes has a wide variety of Mobile Equipment to assist you on your shoot. For cameras, Sony's Z1 HDV offers shooting modes, including SD, HDV 1080i and NTSC or PAL modes. Complete with a crisp Carl Zeiss T* lens!
The PD-150 is our workhorse Standard Definition camera. Rich colours and a slightly softer look than the Z1
TRV-18's / HCR-85: Portability? Ease of Operation? Book one of these cameras!
The Centre also has wireless and standard microphones (including a binaural stereo pair), digital audio recording gear, lights, gels, C-stands, tripods....everything to get you going.
New Electronics Studio
CFAT's Electronics Lab is open to members on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-5PM.
The Electronics Studio currently includes various resources for electronics research and development, testing and troubleshooting, and fabrication, and will soon include resources for programming, including Arduino and MAX/MSP/Jitter.
CFAT now also has a stock of basic electronic components available for sale to members, which currently includes a variety of resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, switches, relays, linear ICs, 4000 series digital-logic ICs, 74 series digital-logic ICs, wire, and solderless breadboards, and will soon include a variety of sensors, actuators, motors, and microcontrollers.
